SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patricia Spagat, who passed away on
4September 22, 2018 at the age of 89; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patricia Spagat was a former teacher who supported
6many environmental and humanitarian causes, including
7advocating for animals and LGBTQ rights; in continuing with her
8efforts to make the world a better place, she donated her body
9to Science Care for medical research; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Patricia Spagat was a dedicated volunteer and
11longtime member of the Democratic Party of Oak Park; she also
12supported and volunteered with the Animal Care League and the
13Tree House Humane Society; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Patricia Spagat enjoyed sitting on her front porch
15and waving to the people and the dogs who passed by or played
16in the park across the street; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Patricia Spagat was preceded in death by her
18husband, David; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Patricia Spagat is survived by her brother, John
20Picchiotti; her children, Susan (David) Moore, Michael (Karen)

1Spagat, and Robert (Toni) Spagat; her grandchildren, Daniel,
2Grant, Isabella, Lucas, Henry, Oskar, and Anton; her many
3nieces and nephews and their families; her loyal friends; and
4her much-loved pets, particularly her rescue dog, Paula;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Patricia Spagat and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Patricia Spagat as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
