SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas J. Vana of Des Plaines, who passed
4away on March 20, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Vana was born on March 16 1949; he attended
6St. Stephen Elementary School in Des Plaines and Notre Dame
7College Prep High School in Niles; he served as a medic in the
82nd Infantry Division in Korea during the Vietnam conflict; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Vana worked for the United States Postal
10Service for 30 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Vana, along with his family, was active at
12St. Stephen Protomartyr Church in Des Plaines; he served as
13vice commander of the VFW in Des Plaines; he will be remembered
14as a kind and caring man who was a great asset to the community
15and the VFW; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Thomas Vana was the beloved husband of Mary Karen
17Vana, the loving father of Thomas and Michael Vana, the adored
18grandfather of Epifhany Vana, the dear brother of Craig (Cindy)
19Vana, Mariann (Paul) Bilodeau, Roy (Barbara) Vana, Pam (Tom)
20Erkel, Tim (Julie) Vana, Libby (Bill) Giovanni, Ellen (Joe)
21Ecker, Christopher Vana, and Charlie (Jill) Vana, and the

1cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Thomas J. Vana and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Thomas Vana as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
