SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carole A. Oldani of Springfield, who
4passed away on April 22, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carole Oldani had a long career as a nurse,
6working mainly in hospitals; she retired from the Illinois
7Department of Public Health, where she served as a health
8facility surveyor nurse, inspecting nursing homes, hospitals,
9and federal facilities; she was a passionate advocate for the
10patients she served; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carole Oldani was always full of life and loved
12spending time with her children and grandchildren; her faith
13and family were most important to her; she was always stylish,
14smiling, and loved shopping, traveling, and getting together
15with her high school friends and the Panera girls; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carole Oldani was a member of Christ the King
17Parish and chaired the funeral luncheon committee for a number
18of years; she served on the Samaritan Board at St. John's
19Hospital and volunteered as a Samaritan in the emergency room
20and the cardiac cath labs; she was also active in the St.
21Louise de Marillac Guild, serving Catholic Charities; and

1    WHEREAS, Carole Oldani was preceded in death by her
2husband, Louis A. Oldani; her parents, Cecelia (Veseling) and
3Loren McNelly; her infant brother, Thomas Patrick McNelly; and
4her sister, Barbara (McNelly) Petrilli; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carole Oldani is survived by her son, Mark
6(Theresa) Oldani; her daughters, Mary Anne Oldani and Jamie
7Oldani; her granddaughters, Maria Oldani, Gabrielle Oldani,
8and Katie Dresser; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Carole A. Oldani and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Carole Oldani as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
