SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James K. "Jim" McAtee Jr. of Coal Valley,
4who passed away on August 8, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim McAtee Jr. was born in Viola to Dorothy
6(Chard) and James McAtee Sr. on January 29, 1935; he graduated
7from Orion High School and served in the United States Army; he
8married Donna Mae Hufford in Silvis on July 21, 1962; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim McAtee Jr. worked as am assembler for Farmall
10and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim McAtee Jr. served as assistant scoutmaster for
12his son's Boy Scout Troop 322; he was a member of the UAW local
13402 in Springfield, Ohio and of several antique tractor clubs;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jim McAtee Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and
17Katherine McAtee; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim McAtee Jr. is survived by his wife, Donna Mae;
19his son, Stephen (Hope) McAtee; his grandchildren, Alexander
20McAtee and Caitlin McAtee; his nieces, Carol and Brenda McAtee;

1and several cousins; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4James K. "Jim" McAtee Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Jim McAtee Jr. as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
