SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald B. "Ron" Miller of Illinois City,
4who passed away on November 17, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Miller was born in Drury Township to David and
6Vada Pulliam Miller on February 26, 1926; he graduated from
7Aledo High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy; he
8married Betty Jo Vance in Aledo on April 16, 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ron Miller farmed in the Eliza area for many
10years; he was also employed in the maintenance department at
11The HON Company in Muscatine, Iowa, retiring in 1991; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ron Miller was a member of the Westmer Larger
13Parish and the Mercer County VFW Post 1571; he enjoyed hunting,
14fishing, and being with his family; he was an avid fan of the
15Chicago Cubs; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ron Miller was preceded in death by his wife,
17Betty Jo; his parents; and his brothers, Robert and Lyle; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ron Miller is survived by his daughter, Darcy
19Relander; his sons, Steve, Ron (Robin), and Scott (Jill)
20Miller; his grandchildren, Kelly Jo, Travis, and Cody; three

1great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; his sister, Donna
2Thompson; three nieces; and two nephews and their families;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Ronald B. "Ron" Miller and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Ron Miller as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
