SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Allan W. Mackiewicz of Westville, who
4passed away on December 8, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Allan Mackiewicz was born in Danville to John J.
6Sr. and Susan (Snook) Mackiewicz on June 8, 1971; he graduated
7from Schlarman High School and served in the U.S. Navy; he
8married Marla Furman on September 3, 2000; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Allan Mackiewicz was a member of the Westville
10Police Department for 18 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Allan Mackiewicz volunteered with the Westville
12Recreation League, where he had served as past president and
13was known for his unending commitment within the league as a
14coach and mentor; he was a 32nd Degree Mason with Catlin
15Masonic Lodge #285 and the Valley of Danville Scottish Rite; he
16was also a member of Catlin American Legion Post #776 and the
17Second Church of Christ in Danville, where he enjoyed serving
18with his church family; he enjoyed fantasy baseball and was an
19avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Allan Mackiewicz was preceded in death by his
21father, John Mackiewicz Sr.; his grandfather, William Snook;

1his uncle, Dan Snook; and his aunt, Rita Snook; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Allan Mackiewicz is survived by his wife, Marla;
3his daughters, Myla and Alayne Mackiewicz; his mother, Susan
4Mackiewicz; his grandmother, Ada Marie Snook; his brother, John
5J. (Nancy) Mackiewicz Jr.; his uncle, Charles W. (Linda) Snook
6Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Allan W. Mackiewicz and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Allan Mackiewicz as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
