SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kevin G. Chapman of Urbana, who passed
4away on March 3, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman was born to Kenneth and Kena Jo
6Chapman in Lansing, Michigan on October 6, 1989; the family
7moved to Urbana in June of 2002, and Kevin graduated with
8honors from Urbana High School in 2008; he earned his
9bachelor's degree in zoology from Southern Illinois University
10in Carbondale and a master's degree in ecology from Utah State
11University; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman worked as a wildlife technician with
13the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and as an
14ecologist for a number of fish and wildlife projects in Oregon
15and Washington; he most recently worked out of Urbana as a
16project biologist with Shoener Environmental Inc.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman loved the outdoors, whether for work
18or fun, and embraced any opportunity to hike, camp, or have a
19casual fireside beer; he will be remembered for his loving and
20genuine spirit, his ability to have enriching, intellectual
21conversations, his wonderfully absurd sense of humor, and his
22passion for games of all kinds; and

1    WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman was preceded in death by his
2grandparents, Lee and Norma Chapman; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman is survived by his parents, Kenneth
4and Kena Jo Chapman; his brother, Kristopher Chapman; his
5grandparents, Kenneth and Joan Helkaa; and his loving aunts,
6uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Kevin G. Chapman and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Kevin Chapman as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
