SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert A. Saddler, Ed.D. of Chicago, who
4passed away on March 9, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler was born on July 16, 1934; he earned a
6doctorate in Education Leadership and was an educational leader
7and mentor to countless individuals in the Chicago Public
8Schools; and
 
9    WHEREAS, For over 60 years, Dr. Saddler went above and
10beyond to build a foundation of educational success for Chicago
11youth; he supported several educational programs aimed at
12improving the lives of students and preparing them for college;
13he began a mentoring program for young men in 7th and 8th grade
14to provide moral support and academic guidance; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler had a deep passion for education and
16an unwavering commitment to helping students achieve success;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler is survived by his children, Lorri
19Lynn Saddler and Derrick Robert Saddler; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Robert A. Saddler, Ed.D. and extend our sincere condolences to
3his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Dr. Saddler as an expression of our
7deepest sympathy.
