SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carl Thomas "Tom" Weitzel II of
4Springfield, who passed away on May 10, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Weitzel was born in Springfield to Carl
6Thomas Sr. and Mary Alice (Stevens) Weitzel on December 18,
71950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carl Weitzel honorably served in the Illinois
9National Guard; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Carl Weitzel was a member of Teamsters local 916,
11the H.O.G. Springfield Chapter, and the Springfield Bible
12Church; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Carl Weitzel was preceded in death by his parents;
14his sisters, Judy Weitzel and Mary Ellen Van Amburgh; and his
15brother, Donald "Don" Weitzel; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carl Weitzel is survived by his daughters, Nicole
17(Mike Peterson) Flynn and Jessica "Jess" (Kayla) Weitzel; their
18mother, Mary Ann Weitzel; his granddaughters, Shayla Flynn and
19Megan Peterson; his sisters, Sally King and Carol (Bill)
20Wendling; his sister-in-law, Cherrie Weitzel; his brothers,

1Jerry Weitzel and Richard "Rick" Weitzel; his companion and
2partner, Theresa Smith; his lifelong friend, Terry (Patti
3Cliffe) Chapman; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and
4cousins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Carl Thomas "Tom" Weitzel II and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Carl Weitzel as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
