SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Cornelius "Connie" O'Neill of Joliet, who
4passed away on September 1, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was born to Cornelius and Mary
6(Gleason) O'Neill in Joliet in 1933; he graduated from Joliet
7Catholic High School in 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill retired from the Teamsters Union,
9Local 179, and the City of Joliet Fire Department; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was a fourth-degree member of the
11Knights of Columbus, a member of the Italian American Cultural
12Society, and a former member of St. Mary Carmelite in Joliet;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill loved music, dancing, and fishing;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was preceded in death by his son,
17Connie O'Neill Jr.; his parents; and his brother, Jim Bell; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill is survived by his loving wife,
19Josephine Juresic; his sister, Mary Ellen Vorhees; and numerous

1nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Cornelius "Connie" O'Neill and extend our sincere condolences
5to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
6it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Connie O'Neill as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
