2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 5 as follows:

7 | | Sec. 5. Purpose. The
The General Assembly declares that
it |
8 | | is the public policy of the State to promote and encourage
the |
9 | | use of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air
|
10 | | quality in the State and to meet the requirements of the |
11 | | federal
Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal |
12 | | Energy Policy
Act of 1992. The General Assembly further |
13 | | declares that the
State can play a leadership role in the |
14 | | development of vehicles
powered by alternate fuels, as well as |
15 | | in the establishment of
the necessary infrastructure to |
16 | | support this emerging technology. |
