Amends the Dual Credit Quality Act. Provides that a community college district shall, upon the request of a school district within the jurisdiction of the community college district, enter into a partnership agreement with the school district to offer dual credit courses for students with intellectual disabilities. Provides that courses shall include, if appropriate, support outlined in the student's individualized education program and support provided under a significantly modified curriculum. Provides that within one year after the effective date of the amendatory Act, every community college district in this State shall create a plan outlining a partnership agreement with a school district to offer dual credit courses for students with intellectual disabilities; requires the plan to be updated every 3 years thereafter. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Dual Credit Quality Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 40 as follows: |
6 | | (110 ILCS 27/40 new) |
7 | | Sec. 40. Students with intellectual disabilities; |
8 | | partnership plan. |
9 | | (a) A community college district shall, upon the request |
10 | | of a school district within the jurisdiction of the community |
11 | | college district, enter into a partnership agreement with the |
12 | | school district to offer dual credit courses for students with |
13 | | intellectual disabilities. Courses shall include, if |
14 | | appropriate, support outlined in the student's individualized |
15 | | education program under Article 14 of the School Code and |
16 | | support provided under a significantly modified curriculum. |
17 | | (b) Within one year after the effective date of this |
18 | | amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly, every community |
19 | | college district in this State shall create a plan outlining a |
20 | | partnership agreement with a school district to offer dual |
21 | | credit courses for students with intellectual disabilities. |
22 | | The plan must be updated every 3 years thereafter.
