SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 46/26

    Amends the Health Care Worker Background Check Act. Provides that individuals acting as an allied health professional shall be included on the Health Care Worker Registry. Provides that the Health Care Worker Registry shall include the individual's name, current address, and Social Security number or federal taxpayer identification number (rather than Social Security number only), the date and location of the training course completed by the individual, whether the individual has any disqualifying convictions from the date of the training course completed by the individual, and the date of the individual's last criminal records check.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Health Care Worker Background Check Act is
5amended by changing Section 26 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 46/26)
7    Sec. 26. Health Care Worker Registry. The Department shall
8establish and maintain the Health Care Worker Registry, a
9registry of all individuals who (i) have satisfactorily
10completed the training required by Section 3-206 of the
11Nursing Home Care Act, Section 3-206 of the MC/DD Act, or
12Section 3-206 of the ID/DD Community Care Act, (ii) have begun
13a current course of training as set forth in Section 3-206 of
14the Nursing Home Care Act, Section 3-206 of the MC/DD Act, or
15Section 3-206 of the ID/DD Community Care Act, or (iii) are
16otherwise acting as a nursing assistant, habilitation aide,
17home health aide, or child care aide, or allied health
18professional. The Health Care Worker Registry shall include
19the individual's name, current address, and Social Security
20number or federal taxpayer identification number, the date and
21location of the training course completed by the individual,
22whether the individual has any of the disqualifying
23convictions listed in Section 25 of the Health Care Worker

1Background Check Act from the date of the training course
2completed by the individual, and the date of the individual's
3last criminal records check. Any individual placed on the
4Health Care Worker Registry is required to inform the
5Department of any change of address within 30 days after the
6effective date of the change of address.
7    The Department shall include in the Health Care Worker
8Registry established under this Section the information
9contained in the registries established under Section 3-206.01
10of the Nursing Home Care Act, Section 3-206.01 of the MC/DD
11Act, and Section 3-206.01 of the ID/DD Community Care Act.
