Amends the Illinois Department of Revenue Sunshine Act. Provides that the Department of Revenue shall submit for publication (currently, publish) quarterly in the Illinois Register
an index of any informal rulings, opinions or letters issued by the Department
of Revenue during the quarter and required to be made available. Effective January 1, 2023.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Department of Revenue Sunshine Act |
| 5 | | is amended by changing Section 4 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 2515/4) (from Ch. 127, par. 2004)

| 7 | | Sec. 4.
The Department shall submit for publication |
| 8 | | publish quarterly in the Illinois Register
an index of any |
| 9 | | informal rulings, opinions or letters issued by the department
|
| 10 | | during the quarter and required to be made available by |
| 11 | | Section 3. The Department
shall also submit publish on or |
| 12 | | before January 15, 1982, and annually thereafter,
for |
| 13 | | publication in the Illinois Register, a cumulative index of |
| 14 | | all such informal rulings, opinions or letters issued
by the |
| 15 | | Department during the preceding calendar year. The cumulative |
| 16 | | index
shall be made available to the public at cost. Such |
| 17 | | indexes shall
include a brief synopsis of each informal |
| 18 | | ruling, opinion or letter together
with information on how the |
| 19 | | public may gain access to such document.
