AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4556

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4556 on page 5, by
3replacing lines 5 through 22 with the following:
 
4    "(410 ILCS 710/10 new)
5    Sec. 10. Dispensing of drug adulterant testing supplies. A
6pharmacist, physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or
7physician assistant, or the pharmacist's, physician's,
8advanced practice registered nurse's, or physician assistant's
9designee, may dispense drug adulterant testing supplies to any
10person. Any drug adulterant testing supplies dispensed under
11this Section must be stored at a licensed pharmacy, hospital,
12clinic, or other health care facility or at the medical office
13of a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or
14physician assistant and in a manner that limits access to the
15drug adulterant testing supplies to pharmacists, physicians,
16advanced practice registered nurses, or physician assistants
17employed at the pharmacy, hospital, clinic, or other health

1care facility or medical office and any persons designated by
2the pharmacist, physician, advanced practice registered nurse,
3or physician assistant. Drug adulterant testing supplies
4dispensed at a retail store containing a pharmacy under this
5Section may be dispensed only from the pharmacy department of
6the retail store. No quantity of drug adulterant testing
7supplies greater than necessary to conduct 5 assays of
8substances suspected of containing adulterants shall be
9dispensed in any single transaction.
 
10    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
11becoming law.".
