HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rose A. Mayerbock of Chicago, who passed
4away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 66; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock was a beam of light to everyone
6who met her and a dedicated public servant; she was a vital
7part of the 39th Ward community; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock first began serving her neighbors
9as a crossing guard; for fifteen years, her warm smile and
10enthusiastic greetings were welcomed by many children of the
11Mayfair and surrounding neighborhoods; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's cheerful and caring personality
13made her a natural fit as the Director of Constituent Services
14for the 39th Ward Public Service Office; under the leadership
15of Alderman Margaret Laurino and Alderman Samantha Nugent, she
16quickly earned a reputation for being a "go-to-person" among
17the Ward's constituency and an unofficial "office Mom" to both
18young and contemporary colleagues alike; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's area of expertise was with the
20Ward's senior citizen population, where she went above and
21beyond in her service; from addressing a case with an elderly

1property owner that was taken advantage of to ensuring
2isolated seniors were connected to every resource that local
3government can provide, she was eager to help even in the most
4extraordinary and trying scenarios; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock's warm and professional
6representation of the 39th Ward in monthly senior CAPS
7meetings and advisory councils made her a well known and
8respected presence; her leadership led to positive impacts and
9lasting relationships with the community; and
 
10    WHEREAS, While Rose Mayerbock's unwavering commitment to
11her neighbors was well known, anyone who had the opportunity
12to meet her quickly discovered that her number one priority
13was being a devoted wife, mother to her three sons, and a
14grandmother to her grandchildren; she created a welcoming home
15and always made herself available to friends and family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In addition to embodying the spirit of public
17service and being a wonderful mother, Rose Mayerbock and her
18husband Bud were active parishioners and volunteers at St.
19Edward School and Parish; their continued commitment
20strengthened the Mayfair community; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock will be missed by her family and
22all who knew her; may her infectious laugh, her "Rosie-isms",

1and her spirit remain in our hearts forever; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock was preceded in death by her
3husband, Joseph "Bud" Mayerbock; her oldest son, Jay
4Mayerbock; and her brother, Bob (Anna) Faber; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Mayerbock is survived by her three sons,
6Patrick (Gina) Mayerbock, Timothy (Amy) Mayerbock, and Sean
7(Kara) Mayerbock; her grandchildren, Scarlett Marie, Molly
8Rose, Debbie Rose, Timothy Joseph "TJ", Macy Lee, and Maddox
9Jay; her brother, Tom (Kathy); and the thousands of residents
10she helped over her tenure as a public servant; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of Rose A. Mayerbock and extend our
15sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Rose Mayerbock as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
