HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Canine
4Diesel of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, who passed away on
5September 11, 2021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Starting his career in 2015, Canine Diesel was a
7sworn member of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and added
8tremendous value to the community throughout his years of
9service; he was the partner of Deputy Craig Somerville and
10waited anxiously every day for his partner to open the squad
11car door so they could go to work; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Canine Diesel will be remembered for finding
13dozens of missing endangered people, fleeing felons, and
14significant amounts of contraband; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Born on September 16th, Canine Diesel was seven
16years old and had recently been diagnosed with an aggressive
17cancer found to be in an advanced stage; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn the passing of Canine Diesel and extend our sincere
21condolences to all who knew and loved him; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the Deputy Craig Somerville and the Lake County
3Sheriff's Department as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
