HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Eleanor E. Gorski on the
4occasion of her appointment as executive director of the Cook
5County Land Bank Authority; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Eleanor Gorski received her bachelor's degree
7from Penn State University; she earned her master's degree in
8Architecture from the University of Illinois; she is a fellow
9of the American Academy in Rome and the University of Chicago
10Civic Leadership Academy; she is also a licensed architect;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Eleanor Gorski is a city planning expert who
13began her extensive career with the City of Chicago Department
14of Planning and Development (DPD) in 1996; she has served DPD
15in multiple roles, including director of Historic Preservation
16and bureau chief of Planning, Historic Preservation and
17Sustainability; she was appointed acting commissioner of the
18DPD by Mayor Lori Lightfoot in May 2019, where she led the
19department's economic development, zoning, and planning
20bureaus while fostering community-improvement projects and
21initiatives throughout the city; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Eleanor Gorski has led dozens of departmental

1projects and initiatives, including the Neighborhood
2Opportunity Bonus, the five-year rehabilitation plan for
3Wrigley Field, the Fulton Market Innovation District Plan, the
4North Branch Framework Plan, and the Chicago River Design
5Guidelines; she also played a crucial role in connecting city
6hall and local developers for important projects; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Eleanor Gorski began serving as executive
8director of the Cook County Land Bank Authority on August 1,
92021; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate Eleanor E. Gorski on her appointment as
13executive director of the Cook County Land Bank Authority and
14wish her all the best in her new position; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Eleanor Gorski as an expression of our esteem and
17respect.
