HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dr.
4Bruce Sayre; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre was born to Frank Anderson and
6Ruth Ann Sayre on January 8, 1957; he was raised on the South
7Side of Chicago across from Tuley Park; he participated in
8many activities at the park, including baseball, basketball,
9swimming, ice skating, gymnastics, and day camp, and won many
10trophies and awards; he belonged to St. Joachim Parish and
11attended elementary school there; he graduated from De La
12Salle Catholic High School; he attended college and then
13matriculated at the Palmer School of Chiropractic in
14Davenport, Iowa; he received a Doctor in Chiropractic Medicine
15degree in 1989; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre ran a chiropractic and wellness
17clinic for 31 years; his chiropractic skills along with his
18warm and caring personality helped him build a successful
19practice in service to his community; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre was a longtime member and
21eventual president of the Black Association of Chicagoland
22Chiropractors; he also joined the 3G's golf organization and

1eventually became president; he served as the first president
2of the Armstrong Park Advisory Council through which he helped
3plant trees in the park, build its track, and refurbish its
4playground; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre became an avid golfer in
6adulthood; he loved being outdoors and making people laugh; he
7was the rock of his family and could find light in everyone and
8everything; he belonged to many community, civic, and social
9organizations over the years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre was preceded in death by his
11parents; his oldest brother, Frank; his younger brother,
12Gordon; and his baby sister, Phyllis; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce Sayre is survived by his mother-in-law,
14Marcella; his wife, Yolanda; his daughter, Sydney; his two
15sons, Adam and Ryan; his two sisters, Joyce (Frank) Kaiser and
16Kathleen (Marlo) Curry; his nieces and nephews and their
17children and families; his cousins and their families; his
18friends; his neighbors; his patients; his business partners
19and associates; and his fellow golfers; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
21HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22we mourn the passing of Dr. Bruce Sayre and extend our sincere

1condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
2him; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Dr. Bruce Sayre as an expression of
