HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
4Madeleine Burt Pryor, who passed away on January 15, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Madeleine Pryor was born to Raymond J. Burt and
6Vergay Clark in Chicago on August 25, 1928; she graduated from
7grammar school and high school at Corpus Christi and St.
8Elizabeth Catholic Schools; she also graduated from junior
9college; she married Robert Pryor in May of 1950; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Madeleine Pryor worked for the department of the
11U.S. Navy at the Great Lakes Naval Station; she transferred to
12the Federal Housing Authority in downtown Chicago, where she
13retired after 35 years with the government; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Madeleine Pryor committed to her faith at an
15early age and attended St. Dorothy's and St. Phillips Catholic
16Church for most of her life; she had a spirit of compassion and
17found her ministry very early in her life, helping the sick,
18family members, and the nuns of the Sisters of the Blessed
19Sacrament; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Madeleine Pryor was preceded in death by her
21husband and her parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Madeleine Pryor is survived by her brothers,
2Donald (Joslyn) Burt and William Anderson; her nieces, Jackie
3McLeod and Rochelle Burt; her nephews, Bill Anderson Jr.,
4Kenneth Anderson, Donald Jr., Phillip Taylor Jr., and Marshall
5Burt; her cousins, James (Rosemary) Burt, Karen Lawrence,
6Teresa Turner, Ronnie (Brunu) Burt, and Rozlynn Burt Dozier;
7her grand-niece, Tia Johnson; her goddaughter, Shelline
8Harper; her close friend, Vanessa Stewart; and a host of
9relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn the passing of Madeleine Burt Pryor and extend our
13sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
14and loved her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Madeleine Pryor as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
