HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Wilbert
4Dilworth, who passed away on February 25, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth was born to Leon and Luella
6Dilworth in Corinth, Mississippi on February 24 1939; he
7attended Gwen Doss School in Corinth; he relocated to Memphis,
8Tennessee with his family at the age of nine; he continued his
9education at St. Augustine; he moved to Chicago in 1956; he met
10Minnie Jordan, and they had three children; he later met
11Henrene in 1984, and she was his companion for 38 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth, as a young adult, understood he
13had to work to provide for himself; after moving to Chicago, he
14immediately secured work as a car detailer; he was known to
15hold multiple jobs at a time; he landed a career with the 738
16Union and retired in the early 2000s; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth committed to his faith at an
18early age, first attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in
19Corinth, Mississippi; he later joined New Zion Baptist Church
20in Memphis, Tennessee; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth loved people, music, and food,

1especially sweets; he found great pleasure in the simple
2things in life, including watching birds from the porch; he
3greeted everyone with warmth and a smile; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth was preceded in death by his
5parents; his sisters, Ruby Norman, Elizabeth Thomas, and
6Dorothy Roulette; and his grandson, Gregory Donte Randle; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Wilbert Dilworth is survived by his children,
8Sherry (Oliver) Dilworth Adams, Daphne Dilworth, Bradley
9Dilworth, and Marie Randle; his life companion, Henrene Hogan;
10his brother, Frank (Faye) Dilworth; his grandchildren, Andre,
11Jalyn, Justin, Bradley Jr., Deja, Miranda (Craig), Craig,
12Tracey, Aniyah, Aaron, and Mekhi; his very special grandson,
13Marcus; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we mourn the passing of Wilbert Dilworth and extend our
18sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
19and loved him; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Wilbert Dilworth as an expression
22of our deepest sympathy.
