HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives recognize that the month of March is Women's
4History Month and wish to highlight the accomplishments of
5women in our state; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rose Leedle has been selected to serve as
7president of the Illinois State Beekeepers Association for
82022, making her the first female to be elected in this
9leadership role; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Illinois State Beekeepers Association was
11organized in 1891; over the past 131 years, the association
12has developed a strong working relationship with local
13beekeeping associations throughout the State and the Illinois
14Department of Agriculture and has made positive contributions
15to the agricultural sector throughout the State of Illinois;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rose Leedle is the owner and operator of
18Leedle-Houme Bees, located at 2713 State Highway 14 in
19Mulkeytown in the 117th district in Southern Illinois, a
20region which is home to some of the richest agricultural
21products in the country; and

1    WHEREAS, Rose Leedle operates Leedle-Houme Bees as a
2family-owned business alongside her husband, Doug Leedle, and
3their three sons, Josh, Andy, and Matt; with her family, she
4conducts beekeeping classes in the area and in their bee yard
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rose Leedle loves teaching others about the
7necessity of bees and the art of beekeeping; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Rose Leedle on the occasion of her election as
11the first female president of the Illinois State Beekeepers
12Association; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That we commend the Illinois State Beekeepers
14Association and all beekeeping operations in the State of
15Illinois for their significant contributions to the betterment
16of agriculture in our state; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Rose Leedle as an expression of our esteem and
19respect.
