| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives of the 102nd General Assembly wish to |
| 4 | | recognize Kathy Storey for her contributions and hard work in |
| 5 | | tirelessly serving the Benton/West City community and the |
| 6 | | customers of Legence Bank throughout her career; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey has provided outstanding leadership |
| 8 | | and guidance to many financial institutions; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey, with honor, integrity, and great |
| 10 | | distinction, faithfully served every financial institution |
| 11 | | through all of Legence Bank's acquisitions for over 49 years; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey is a 1971 graduate of Benton |
| 14 | | Consolidated High School and a 1998 graduate of the Community |
| 15 | | Bankers Association of Illinois-Residential Real Estate |
| 16 | | Lending School; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, After graduation, Kathy Storey started working in |
| 18 | | the financial industry on April 17, 1972 at First American |
| 19 | | Savings and Loan; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey continued her banking career through |
|

| 1 | | many acquisitions; First American Savings and Loan was |
| 2 | | acquired by First Savings and Loan/Cook County Federal Saving |
| 3 | | of Chicago on April 14, 1986 and acquired again by First Cook |
| 4 | | Bank for Savings on February 3, 1989; the name was changed in |
| 5 | | November of 1990 to First Cook Community Bank FSB and then |
| 6 | | merged to Republic Bank on August 18, 1994; it was then |
| 7 | | acquired by South Pointe Bank on November 9, 1996 and then |
| 8 | | acquired again by Mid-Country Bank on November 3, 2006; there |
| 9 | | was a final acquisition by Legence Bank on August 18, 2017; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey has served in many capacities, |
| 11 | | including teller, branch manager, lender, personal banker, |
| 12 | | vice president, and now as a relationship manager for Legence |
| 13 | | Bank; she has served hundreds of customers over the years; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey has served as a volunteer and leader |
| 15 | | in her local community for the past 49 years as well; she is |
| 16 | | known for her compassion, service, expertise, and integrity; |
| 17 | | and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey was featured in the Southern |
| 19 | | Business Journal in September of 2005 and awarded the 2010 |
| 20 | | Citizen of the Year by the Benton/West City Chamber of |
| 21 | | Commerce; and
|
| 22 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey served as a member and director of |
|

| 1 | | the Benton/West City Chamber of Commerce for 25 years, serving |
| 2 | | on several committees and helping with membership recruitment; |
| 3 | | and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Storey was elected as a trustee for the |
| 5 | | Benton Library in May of 2017 and serves as treasurer; |
| 6 | | therefore, be it
|
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 8 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 9 | | we congratulate Kathy Storey on her decades of service and |
| 10 | | contributions to the community of Benton/West City and |
| 11 | | recognize her commitment to excellence in the financial |
| 12 | | industry as she retires with 49 years and 2 weeks of dedicated |
| 13 | | service; and be it further
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 15 | | presented to Kathy Storey of Legence Bank as a symbol of our |
| 16 | | esteem and respect.
