1    AN ACT concerning safety.
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4    Section 5. The Health Care Right of Conscience Act is
5amended by adding Section 13.5 as follows:
6    (745 ILCS 70/13.5 new)
7    Sec. 13.5. Violations related to COVID-19 requirements. It
8is not a violation of this Act for any person or public
9official, or for any public or private association, agency,
10corporation, entity, institution, or employer, to take any
11measures or impose any requirements, including, but not
12limited to, any measures or requirements that involve
13provision of services by a physician or health care personnel,
14intended to prevent contraction or transmission of COVID-19 or
15any pathogens that result in COVID-19 or any of its subsequent
16iterations. It is not a violation of this Act to enforce such
17measures or requirements. This Section is a declaration of
18existing law and shall not be construed as a new enactment.
19Accordingly, this Section shall apply to all actions commenced
20or pending on or after the effective date of this amendatory
21Act of the 102nd General Assembly. Nothing in this Section is
22intended to affect any right or remedy under federal law.
