1 | | AN ACT concerning safety.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Health Care Right of Conscience Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 13.5 as follows: |
6 | | (745 ILCS 70/13.5 new) |
7 | | Sec. 13.5. Violations related to COVID-19 requirements. It |
8 | | is not a violation of this Act for any person or public |
9 | | official, or for any public or private association, agency, |
10 | | corporation, entity, institution, or employer, to take any |
11 | | measures or impose any requirements, including, but not |
12 | | limited to, any measures or requirements that involve |
13 | | provision of services by a physician or health care personnel, |
14 | | intended to prevent contraction or transmission of COVID-19 or |
15 | | any pathogens that result in COVID-19 or any of its subsequent |
16 | | iterations. It is not a violation of this Act to enforce such |
17 | | measures or requirements. This Section is a declaration of |
18 | | existing law and shall not be construed as a new enactment. |
19 | | Accordingly, this Section shall apply to all actions commenced |
20 | | or pending on or after the effective date of this amendatory |
21 | | Act of the 102nd General Assembly. Nothing in this Section is |
22 | | intended to affect any right or remedy under federal law.
