SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 1705/76.1 new

    Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall create and maintain an online database and resource page on its website. Provides that the database and resource page shall contain mental health resources specifically geared toward first responders with the goal of connecting those persons with mental health resources related to crisis services, wellness, trauma information, nutrition, stress reduction, anxiety, depression, violence prevention, suicide prevention, and substance use and of encouraging information sharing among families of first responders, first responder organizations, first responder professional organizations, and first responders. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
5Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by adding Section
676.1 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 1705/76.1 new)
8    Sec. 76.1. First responder mental health database and
9resource page. Subject to appropriation, the Department shall
10create and maintain an online database and resource page on
11its website. The database and resource page shall contain
12mental health resources specifically geared toward first
13responders with the goal of connecting those persons with
14mental health resources related to crisis services, wellness,
15trauma information, nutrition, stress reduction, anxiety,
16depression, violence prevention, suicide prevention, and
17substance use and of encouraging information sharing among
18families of first responders, first responder organizations,
19first responder professional organizations, and first
20responders.
 
21    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
22becoming law.
