Amends the Secretary of State Act. Provides that the Secretary of State shall provide a brochure that includes information concerning how to receive treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder to each person issued an identification card or driver's license with a veteran designation and each person applying for a veteran or military special license plate. Provides that the Secretary shall work with the Department of Veterans' Affairs to design the brochure and to determine what information shall be included, or incorporated from an already existing brochure produced by the Department of Veterans' Affairs, in the brochure.

1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Secretary of State Act is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 37 as follows: |
6 | | (15 ILCS 305/37 new) |
7 | | Sec. 37. Information on post-traumatic distress disorder |
8 | | for veterans. |
9 | | (a) The Secretary of State shall provide a brochure that |
10 | | includes information concerning how to receive treatment for |
11 | | post-traumatic stress disorder to: |
12 | | (1) any person issued an identification card with a |
13 | | veteran designation under Section 4 of the Illinois |
14 | | Identification Card Act; |
15 | | (2) any person applying for a veteran or military |
16 | | special license plate under Chapter 3 of the Illinois |
17 | | Vehicle Code; and |
18 | | (3) any person issued a driver's license with a |
19 | | veteran designation under Section 6-106 of the Illinois |
20 | | Vehicle Code. |
21 | | (b) The Secretary shall work with the Department of |
22 | | Veterans' Affairs to design the brochure and to determine what |
23 | | information shall be included, or incorporated from an already |
