| 3 | with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment | ||||||
| 4 | No. 1, on page 1, line 5, after "24-6" by inserting "and by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 34-18.78"; and | ||||||
| 6 | on page 4, immediately below line 15, by inserting the | ||||||
| 7 | following:

| 8 | "(105 ILCS 5/34-18.78 new) | ||||||
| 9 | Sec. 34-18.78. Sick leave; mental or behavioral health | ||||||
| 10 | complications. In addition to any interpretation or definition | ||||||
| 11 | included in a collective bargaining agreement or board of | ||||||
| 12 | education or district policy, sick leave, or its equivalent, | ||||||
| 13 | to which a teacher or other eligible employee is entitled | ||||||
| 14 | shall be interpreted to include mental or behavioral health | ||||||
| 15 | complications. Unless contrary to a collective bargaining | ||||||
| 16 | agreement or board of education or district policy, the board | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | may require a certificate from a mental health professional | ||||||
| 2 | licensed in Illinois providing ongoing care or treatment to | ||||||
| 3 | the teacher or employee as a basis for pay during leave after | ||||||
| 4 | an absence of 3 days for mental or behavioral health | ||||||
| 5 | complications.".
