SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The State Board of Education has filed its Report
3on Waivers of School Code Mandates, dated January 28, 2022,
4with the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the
5Secretary of State of Illinois as required by Section 2-3.25g
6of the School Code; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The General Assembly finds that these requests
8have not been conducted with the most appropriate procedure
9for district-wide financial changes that have far reaching
10impacts on local communities; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The General Assembly finds that school finance
12changes should be handled in a consistent manner in
13consultation with ISBE, which shall provide recommendations on
14the best procedure to ensure changes to these requirements in
15the future are given the necessary scrutiny to ensure the best
16outcomes for school districts and communities; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The General Assembly will assess this issue
18thoroughly and address the underlying issues to ensure that
19the waiver process is used for its intended purpose;
20therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF
2REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that the waiver request
3made by Indian Prairie Unit School District #204, identified
4in the report filed by the State Board of Education as request
5M-300-6892, is approved; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That the waiver request made by Naperville Unit
7School District #203, identified in the report filed by the
8State Board of Education as request M-300-6897, is approved.
