SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Darcella Leihokualoha "Darcy" (See)
4Peterson of Peoria, who passed away on December 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to
6Thomas Nainoa Chong See Jr. and Tomiko (Arakaki) See on June 2,
71953; she graduated from Kalani High School in 1971; she
8earned her Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University
9of Washington; she married Stephen W. Peterson in Seattle on
10January 6, 1979; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson devoted her life to raising her
12children and supporting her entire family; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson volunteered in numerous areas at
14her church; in recent years, she traveled alongside her
15husband to several destinations, including Iceland, Egypt, and
16Peru, and she visited all six permanently inhabited
17continents; she also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and
18Hawaii; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson was also known as "Hoku" to her
20family; she believed in the spirit of aloha that she learned
21growing up in Hawaii; she will be remembered as a generous,

1hard worker who was always willing to lend a hand; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson is survived by her husband; her
3children, Lindy Peterson and Zachary Peterson; her mother;
4three sisters; a brother; two aunts; an uncle; and numerous
5nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Darcella Leihokualoha "Darcy" (See) Peterson and extend our
9sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
10and loved her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Darcy Peterson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
