SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Savino Edward Sierra of Peoria, who
4passed away on November 19, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra was born to Angel and Pauline
6(Hernandez) Sierra in Peoria on December 30, 1931; he married
7Ruth Ramos, and she preceded him in death; he later married
8Barbara Zombro; he honorably served in the United States Army;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra worked as a union painter his
11entire life; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra was active in his community; he was
13a proud lifelong southside resident and never missed a city
14council or school board meeting; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra was a parishioner of both St.
16Boniface and St. Ann Catholic Church; he was deeply committed
17to his faith and attended mass six days a week after his
18retirement; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra enjoyed attending band concerts and
20every fish fry at St. Bernard Catholic Church; his proudest

1moments were attending all his grandchildren's events; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra was preceded in death by his
3parents; his first wife, Ruth Ramos; his two grandchildren;
4and his 16 siblings; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Savino Sierra is survived by his three children,
6Gregory (Valorie) Sierra, Angela Sierra, and Mark Sierra; his
7nine grandchildren; and his six great-grandchildren;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Savino Edward Sierra and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Savino Sierra as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
