2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Frank LeRoy Guthrie of Moline, who |
4 | | passed away on December 31, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was born in Rock Island to Frank |
6 | | and Isabel N. (Wheeler) Guthrie on August 4, 1942; he served in |
7 | | the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Denise Thompson at Edgewood |
8 | | Baptist Church in Rock Island; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie worked as a chief design engineer |
10 | | at Farmall before its closure; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was known as a true Mister Fix It |
12 | | and a jack of all trades; he loved spending time with his |
13 | | family; he enjoyed blues music, the Mississippi Valley Blues |
14 | | Society, the Prairie Dog Blues Festival, camping, cooking, and |
15 | | the Chicago Cubs; he was a longtime member of the Rock Island |
16 | | Conservation Club; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was preceded in death by his |
18 | | parents; his brother, Jeff Guthrie; his son, Sean Guthrie; his |
19 | | daughter, Tammy Johnson; and his nephew, Anthony Hayes; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie is survived by his wife of over 36 |

13 | | Frank LeRoy Guthrie and extend our sincere condolences to his |
14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
