SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of H. Blake Finch of Silvis, who passed
4away on April 6, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Blake Finch was born in Savannah, Georgia on July
66, 1944; he was the son of Braxton and Becky (Gober) Finch; he
7attended Southern Illinois University; he served in the U.S.
8Air Force during the Vietnam War; he married Debbie in Port
9Byron on October 20, 1973; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Blake Finch moved from Granite City to the Quad
11Cities area to work for National Steel; he worked as the
12Admissions Manager at The Quad City Downs to meet people in the
13area; while working at The Quad City Downs, he was introduced
14to the Duffys, who later offered him a position with their
15company, Per Mar Security; he retired as vice president of
16Electronic Security at Per Mar Security after 35 years of
17service; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Blake Finch was best known for his love of
19photography and videography, and he was never seen without a
20camera in hand; he could always be found taking pictures and
21video of ball games, sporting events, and all things important
22to friends and family; he cherished his children; and

1    WHEREAS, Blake Finch was preceded in death by his father
2and stepmother, Braxton and Regina Finch; his mother and
3stepfather, Becky and Charlie Hicks; and his brother, Wayne
4Finch; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Blake Finch is survived by his wife, Debbie; his
6children, Jennifer (Matt) Drobney, Kelly Finch, and James
7Booth; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Brendan, Braxton,
8Mattie, and Elizabeth; his sisters, Cindy (Brian) Sheehan and
9Lynn Mitchell; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13H. Blake Finch and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Blake Finch as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
