SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Catherine E. "Cathi" Gitchoff of
4Granite City, who passed away on April 5, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff was born to Shirley (Morgan)
6Batson and James Batson in Granite City on January 27, 1955;
7she married Drew Gitchoff in Granite City on September 24,
81983; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff was a clerk with the Madison
10County States Attorney's office for over 35 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff served as the president of
12AFSCME Local #799; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff cherished her children and
14grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special
15times she shared with her family and friends; she was a giving
16person and a fierce advocate for her friends; she enjoyed
17gardening in her spare time; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff was preceded in death by her
19father and her two brothers, Tim and Andy Batson; and

1    WHEREAS, Catherine Gitchoff is survived by her mother; her
2husband; her daughter, Heather (Tim) Manibusan; her son, Jon
3"Alex" Gitchoff; her two grandchildren, Noah and Ben
4Manibusan; her two brothers, Paul (Wendy) Batson and
5Christopher (Cindy) Batson; her sister, Becky Hayes; her
6brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Milo and Cara Gitchoff; her
7nieces and nephews; and her extended family and many cherished
8friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Catherine E. "Cathi" Gitchoff and extend our sincere
12condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Catherine Gitchoff as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
