SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Rosetta Ilene Burnett-Womack, who
4passed away on February 19, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosetta Burnett-Womack was born to Elder James
6and Clementine Burnett in Alton on December 5, 1948; she
7graduated from Alton High School and then attended nursing
8school; she committed to her faith at an early age; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rosetta Burnett-Womack loved to work and held
10many jobs throughout her life; she worked at the Alton Box
11Board, Delyn Cleaning Service, and Home Health Care; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rosetta Burnett-Womack loved her community and
13was affectionately called Momma Rose by many; she will be
14remembered as a devoted and loving mother, cousin, sister,
15friend, aunt, daughter, and grandmother, and her legacy will
16be remembered; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rosette Burnett-Womack was preceded in death by
18her parents; her maternal grandparents, William and Pearline
19Brown; her paternal grandparents, Louis and Nellie Burnett;
20her brothers, James Walter and Royce Burnett; her sisters,
21Pearline Dorsey and Debbie Taylor; her son, Craig Womack; and

1her granddaughter, Shamarla Stallings; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rosetta Burnett-Womack is survived by her
3children, Dionne (Bryant) McElroy, Anissa Womack, Al Womack
4Jr., Melvin Bell, and Johnica Gerhardt; her four special sons,
5Eric Burnett Sr., Gerald Harrison, William Bowens, and Damon
6Womack; her sisters, Joyce Woods, Clementine Adams, Delores
7Finley, Alice Buford, Jamie Foster, and Lynn Ingram; her
8brother, Walter James Burnett; her 14 grandchildren; her 15
9great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; her cousins; and
10her special friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Rosetta Ilene Burnett-Womack and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Rosetta Burnett-Womack as an
18expression of our deepest sympathy.
