SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Emmett M. Horaney of Ancona, who
4passed away on April 26, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Emmett Horaney was born in Streator to Melvin and
6Virginia (Mogee) Horaney on February 13, 1949; he attended
7Streator High School and married Florence "Flossie" Hrasch on
8July 7, 1967; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Emmett Horaney worked for the Owens Illinois
10Glass Company for 12 years; he later worked for the Exelon
11Corporation for over 25 years, retiring in 2007; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Emmett Horaney was a member of the former St.
13Stephen's Church and then belonged to St. Michael the
14Archangel Church; he was also a member of the Msgr. George A.
15Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790; he enjoyed
16entertaining family and friends at his home by the river, a
17pontoon ride down the Vermilion, bird watching in his back
18yard, and a good hand of poker; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Emmett Horaney was preceded in death by his
20parents and his daughter-in-law, Tricia Horaney; and

1    WHEREAS, Emmett Horaney is survived by his wife, Flossie;
2his sons, Emmett Mike Horaney Jr., Jeff (Chauntel) Horaney,
3and Jon (Julie) Horaney; his grandchildren, Jake, Sydney, Max,
4Grayson, Maddox, Fisher, and Emmett James Horaney, and Jerry,
5Chris, and Bendon Lillie; three great-grandchildren; his
6sisters, Jane (Rev. Ray) Harrison and Joanne (Ed) Holt; and
7his brother, William (Brenda) Horaney; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Emmett M. Horaney and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Emmett Horaney as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
