SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Victor Thomas Carnelli, D.D.S., who
4passed away at the age of 89; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Carnelli was born to V.V. and Mary Carnelli;
6he studied pre-med at DePauw University; he graduated from
7Northwestern University Dental School; he served in the U.S.
8Navy Reserve, where he earned the rank of lieutenant; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Carnelli started his dental practice in 1958;
10he practiced dentistry for more than 56 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Carnelli was a member of the Rotary for more
12than 44 years, where he served as the president in the late
131970s; he participated in Doctors Without Borders, providing
14dentistry services to underserved children in Ecuador; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Carnelli participated in various activities,
16including designing and building radio control airplanes,
17skiing, fishing, photography, and breeding and showing dogs;
18he was a pilot and Model A enthusiast, and he owned two
19single-engine airplanes and a 1930 Model A Ford; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Carnelli is survived by his wife, Marilyn;

1his children, Craig and Lisa Carnelli, and their mother,
2Sandra; his grandchildren, Nichole and Justin; and his
3great-granddaughter, Madisyn; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Victor Thomas Carnelli, D.D.S. and extend our sincere
7condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
8him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Dr. Carnelli as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
