SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles Lee Curry of Moline, who
4passed away on May 6, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Curry was born in Mexico, Missouri to
6Harold and Laveta Goe Curry on December 30, 1945; he graduated
7from Mexico High School; he received his Bachelor of Science
8in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri; he earned
9his Master of Arts in Physical Therapy from the University of
10Southern California; he married Mary Lynn Chilton in
11Florissant, Missouri on March 29, 1969; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Curry served in the U.S. Air Force until
13he retired in 1989; he then worked at Cornell University in
14Ithaca, New York, and he retired in 2004; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Curry was a member of First
16Congregational Church and a longtime community volunteer at
17World Relief; he was a member of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club
18and had a lifetime of cycling friendships and experiences; he
19was a passionate train enthusiast; he loved baseball and
20basketball; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Charles Curry was preceded in death by his

1parents and his sister, Mary Ellen; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Charles Curry is survived by his wife of over 52
3years, Mary; his daughter, Anna Curry (Joshua Wick); and his
4granddaughter, Jane Callender; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Charles Lee Curry and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Charles Curry as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
