SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Raymond Joseph Garza, who passed away
4on February 2, 2021 at the age of 82; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza was born to Gonzalo and Josephine
6Garza in Chicago on August 12, 1938; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza bravely served his country in the
8United States Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza was employed at Alverno
10Laboratories before his retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza was an active contributor to a
12number of charities and causes, including the St. Jude's
13Children's Hospital; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza was known by those around him as an
15incredibly kind and caring man who made everyone feel special
16with his wit and humor; he enjoyed spending time with friends
17and family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Raymond Garza is survived by his loving wife of
1954 years, Mary Lou (Diaz) Garza; his four children, Raul (Mary

1Kathryn) Garza, Raymond G. (Christine) Garza, Michelle (Kevin)
2Kirkham, and Jeanette (Ignacio) Negrete; his two brothers,
3Robert and Richard Garza; his eight grandchildren, Mackenzie,
4Lucinda, Mia, Marina, Zachary, Samuel, Ethan, and Dominic; and
5his many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Raymond Joseph Garza and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That that a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Raymond Joseph Garza as an
13expression of our deepest sympathy.
