SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald K. Rursch of Taylor Ridge, who
4passed away on June 9, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch was born to Addison and Edith
6(Johnston) Rursch in Rock Island County on March 25, 1937; he
7married JoAnn Statler in Bennett, Iowa on December 21, 1960;
8he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Army
9Signal Corps while stationed in Korea; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch worked as a farmer; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch donated Packard engines to the
12World War Two museum in New Orleans so they could complete the
13restoration of PT-305; he took multiple trips to New Orleans
14to work on the installation of the engines; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch was a member of the Edgington
16Evangelical Presbyterian Church; he was also a board member
17for the Rockridge Community Schools during the construction of
18the new school in 1983; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch was preceded in death by his
20parents and his siblings, Duane Rursch, Lois Anderson, Orville

1Rursch, and Clair Rursch; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Donald Rursch is survived by his wife; his
3children, Julie (Brian Brace) Rursch, Lori (Roger) Rohlfing,
4and Darrin (Keri) Rursch; his grandchildren, Anna (Zachary)
5Lammi, Austin Rohlfing, Kathryn Rohlfing, Ella Rursch, and
6Amelia Rursch; and his brothers, Marvin and John Robert
7Rursch; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Donald K. Rursch and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Donald Rursch as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
