SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Carla Sue Sleeter of Alhambra, who
4passed away on July 3, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was born in Belleville on February
611, 1970; she was a 1988 graduate of Collinsville High School
7where she won awards for speed typing; she was an avid softball
8player; she received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a
9Master of Arts in International Affairs from Washington
10University; she married Kenneth Sleeter of Collinsville in
111995; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter began working for Wells Fargo
13Advisors in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1997; most recently, she
14was a managing director and led a team of 45 investment
15professionals focused on securities research; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was a member of the Senior
17Leadership Forum and the Women's Team Member Network and was
18vice-chair of the firm's Investment Policy Committee; in
19addition, she was a member of the Association for Investment
20Management and Research and the St. Louis Society of Financial
21Analysts and a CFA charterholder; and

1    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter and her family loved outdoor
2activities including camping, hiking, gardening, and
3especially kayaking, which she did nearly every day at home;
4she loved to travel and explore new places; she enjoyed family
5vacations around the world in addition to many one-on-one
6trips with each of her family members; she was hard-working,
7confident, and intelligent and had a smile that brightened
8every room; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was preceded in death by her
10father, Chita Wayne White; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter is survived by her husband,
12Kenneth; her son, Kent; her daughter, Corinne; her mother,
13Janet "Gail" White; her brother, Wayne White (Renee); her
14niece, Brooklynn; her nephews, Braden and Chance; her
15mother-in-law, Gloria Sleeter; and her many relatives and
16friends; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Carla Sue Sleeter and extend our sincere condolences to her
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
