SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Virginia Ann Ohren of Granite City,
4who passed away on July 5, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was born to Alphonse B. and Evelyn
6M. (Begeman) Schleper in Breese on December 22, 1947; she
7married John "Jack" Ohren in Edwardsville on August 8, 1969;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren retired from Granite City Steel
10after 32 years of service; she worked in yard maintenance and
11as a caster runout operator; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was a faithful and active member
13of Johnson Road Baptist Church; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren was preceded in death by her
15parents and her husband; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Virginia Ohren is survived by her daughter, Karen
17Ann (Joel) LaFrance; her son, Leonard L. (Shawna) Ohren; her
18five grandchildren, Haileigh, Breanna, and Eli Ohren and Kyle
19and Kaleb LaFrance; her sister, Genevieve M. (Ralph) Rensing;
20her brother, Richard Schleper; and her beloved pet, Honey;

1therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Virginia Ann Ohren and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Virginia Ohren as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
