SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dr. Joseph Jude Maurer of Springfield,
4who passed away on December 27, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Maurer was born to Anton J. and Anna V.
6(Doerfler) Maurer in Springfield on January 21, 1937; he
7served in the U.S. Army; he married Rosetta M. Tega on June 18,
81956, and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2009; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Maurer served as a doctor in internal
10medicine for over 50 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Maurer was happiest when he was surrounded by
12his grandchildren, family, friends, and pets; he was a devoted
13Chicago Bears fan; he was also interested in genealogy; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dr. Maurer was preceded in death by his wife; his
15parents; his sons, John A. Maurer and Dr. Christopher L.
16Maurer; and his sister, Rita Patton; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Maurer is survived by his children, Dr.
18Joanne Maurer (Dr. Mark Gekas), Mary Rose (Tom) Hoffman,
19Joseph J. Maurer Jr. (Lisa), Matthew J. Maurer (Kristina),
20Linda Shoemaker, Diane Howard (Rex Bruss), Dr. Susan Maurer

1(Denise Wend), and Daniel A. Maurer (Rachael); his 14
2grandchildren; his brother, Tony (Julie) Maurer; and several
3nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Dr. Joseph Jude Maurer and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Dr. Maurer as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
