SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jacqueline "Jaci" (Ferrone) Labahn of
4Evanston, who passed away on December 26, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn was born on April 7, 1931 and lived
6her entire life in Evanston; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn opened The Beauty Nook hair salon on
8Central Street in 1957, which was down the street from
9Labahn's Stationery Store where she met her future husband;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn was deeply involved with the Ferrone
12Family Picnic, her St. Nicholas Grade School friends, her St.
13Scholastica High School classmates, and the St. Athanasius
14Church, School, and Women's Club; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn was named the Archdiocese Catholic
16Woman of the Year in 2000; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn loved her family and was known for
18being the best cheerleader in the stands; her applesauce cake
19was legendary; she will be remembered for her love, laughter,
20and great sense of humor; and

1    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn was preceded in death by her parents,
2Anthony and Maria (Gallo) Ferrone; her siblings, Angie (Pete)
3Longo, John (Marie) Ferrone, Minnie (Bert) Annoreno, and Emily
4(Ken) Herrell; and her grandson, Bradley Labahn; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jaci Labahn was the wife of Donald for 62 years;
6the mother of Donna (Bryan) Consolo, Steven (Diane), and Brian
7(Mark Myers); the grandmother of Brittany (Stephen) Montani,
8Kristine Verdico, Matthew Consolo, Michael Consolo, Eric
9Labahn, and Kimberly Labahn; and the aunt and great-aunt of
10many; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Jacqueline "Jaci" (Ferrone) Labahn and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jaci Labahn as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
