SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Floyd Arnold Langenwalter of
4Collinsville, who passed away on November 22, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was born to Arnold and Oradell
6(Dettmar) Langenwalter on September 11, 1923; he graduated
7from McCray Dewey High School in 1941; he served in the U.S.
8Army during World War II; he married Dorothy Ann Schermann on
9May 15, 1949; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter worked as a meat inspector for
11the Department of Agriculture for 35 years before retiring;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was a member of the St. John
14United Church of Christ in Collinsville, where he held
15numerous leadership positions, including president of the
16Church Council; he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #712
17in Collinsville and the Scottish Rites; he was a Shriner; he
18enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, refinishing
19furniture, and traveling with family and friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was preceded in death by his
21parents; his brothers, Milton and Dale Langenwalter; and his

1sisters, Carol Howerton and Shirley Crossman; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter is survived by his wife of 72
3years, Dorothy Ann; his daughters, Janet (Mitch) Boyce and
4Jane (Bob) Sudhoff; his grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Heffren,
5Brian (Ashley) Boyce, Amy (Brian) Stoff, and Christopher
6Sudhoff; his great-grandchildren, Riley and Reid Heffren,
7Erica and Morgan Boyce, and Sawyer and Lily Stoff; and
8numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Floyd Arnold Langenwalter and extend our sincere condolences
12to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Floyd Langenwalter as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
