SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Hughetta C. Hill of Springfield, who
4passed away on December 1, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was born to Hugh and Ida Hitt Ford
6in Hillsboro on April 14, 1935; she graduated from Lanphier
7High School in Springfield; she served in the U.S. Air Force
8for three years until she was honorably discharged; she
9continued her growth and education by periodically completing
10courses at Lincoln Land Community College; she married
11Frederick A. Hill, and they had two daughters, Michelle and
12Cheryl; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill spent the majority of her
14professional career working first at the Illinois State
15Department of Revenue and then the Internal Revenue Service,
16where she last served in Taxpayer Services before retiring;
17during her career, she received many performance awards,
18special acts of service recognitions, and leadership
19accolades; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was a dedicated member of Union
21Baptist Church, where she was honorably appointed a church
22mother and proudly participated in the White Rose and Overall

1Missionary Circles; she will be remembered as a devoted
2mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill was preceded in death by her
4husband, Frederick A. Hill; her parents; her father-in-law,
5Edgar Hill; her mothers-in-law, Ruth Hill Thomas and Rachel
6Hill; and her sister, Barbara J. Day; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Hughetta Hill is survived by her daughters,
8Michelle L. Hearn (John) and Cheryl K. Hill; her grandsons,
9Jonathan Hill and Reverend Jarrod Hill (LaKesha); her
10great-grandchildren; her brother, David Ford; her special
11brother, Robert J. Day; her special sister, Deborah L. Ford; a
12host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews,
13great-great-nieces, and friends; her UBC family; and other
14very special people who became family in her heart; therefore,
15be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Hughetta C. Hill and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Hughetta Hill as an expression of
