SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ryan Masi, who passed away on
4September 19, 2021 at the age of 25; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi was born to Grace and Christopher Masi
6in Oak Park on August 10, 1996; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi attended Fenwick High School, where he
8was an Illinois State Scholar and a member of the math team,
9the National Honor Society, and the swim team; he had special
10talents in water polo, contributing to Fenwick's state
11championship as a sophomore before serving as team captain his
12senior year; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi graduated from Johns Hopkins University
14in Baltimore, Maryland in 2019, where he majored in Chemistry
15and played water polo, helping his team win the Division III
16national championship; he was also a member of the Phi Kappa
17Psi fraternity; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi worked as a pharmaceutical business
19analyst at PharmaAce in Princeton, New Jersey; he was noted by
20colleagues for his enthusiasm, work ethic, and engaging
21personality; and

1    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi will be remembered for being loving and
2bright and for approaching challenges from a unique
3perspective; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ryan Masi was the son of Grace and Christopher
5Masi; the younger brother of Anthony and Faith; the grandson
6of Alfonse and Nancy Masi and (the late) Harold and Muriel
7Olsen; and the nephew and cousin of many; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Ryan Masi and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Ryan Masi as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
