SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. of Paxton,
4who passed away on January 9, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was born to Oliver and Georgina Olsen
6Pitch in Chicago on July 5, 1946; he graduated from Dundee
7Community High School in 1964 and North Central College in
8Naperville in 1969; he married Phyllis Wojcicki in Chicago on
9June 27, 1970; he graduated from Loyola Dental School in
10Maywood in 1976; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch decided to start his own practice in a
12small community after graduating from dental school; he opened
13the office of Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. in Paxton in November
141976; he moved his office into a new building on Market Street
15in Paxton in June 1991; he retired in September 2016; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was a member of the Paxton Fire
17Department for 39 years, where he served as chief from 1995 to
182002; he was also a member of the Illinois Dental Association
19and the NRA; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was known as "Russ" or "Doc" to many; he
21enjoyed shooting, photography, driving his corvette, and

1reading books about military history; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was preceded in death by his parents;
3his son, Christopher Russell Pitch; and his sisters, Karen
4Krumpen and Arlene Pitch; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his
6children, Penny (Mike) Murphy, Michael (Kurt Zeigler) Pitch,
7and Ginger (Zach) Flahaven; and his grandchildren, Sydney
8Murphy, Connor Murphy, Sloane Flahaven, and Hollis Flahaven;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Dr. Pitch as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
