SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Captain Jason Wade Hitch, formerly of
4Champaign-Urbana and Normal, who passed away on December 14,
52021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch was born in Champaign on December 18,
71975; he attended Holy Cross Elementary School; he graduated
8from Champaign Central High School in 1994; he earned his
9Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University in 2001;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch served in the U.S. Army Reserves; his
12proudest accomplishment was attaining the rank of first
13lieutenant while stationed out of Lakeland, Florida; he
14attained the rank of captain posthumously; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch owned and operated several businesses
16in Champaign, including A Pampered Pet, Puttin' on the Dog,
17Balloon Creations, and Jason's Balloons and Spoons; he
18successfully sold car parts, memorabilia, and cosmetics on
19eBay; he also started the online snack business Gifting Fun;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch starred in season 2 of 90 Day Fiance,

1in which he married Cassia Taveras of Brazil; they were
2divorced in 2018; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch dearly loved his Shetland Sheepdogs,
4Frank and Shara; he was an avid car lover and could often be
5found working with his father on old Mercedes or El Caminos, of
6which he owned four; he was especially proud of his '87 El
7Camino, which he lovingly restored; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cpt. Hitch is survived by his father, Ron; his
9siblings, Ryan Hitch and Shannon (Kendric) Speagle; and his
10nieces and nephews, Ellis, Vivienne, Clementine, and Lyndon
11Speagle; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Captain Jason Wade Hitch and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Cpt. Hitch as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
