SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Reverend Wayne E. Hamilton Sr. of
4Springfield, who passed away on January 23, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Hamilton was born in Springfield to Albert
6Sr. and Delores Hamilton on April 14, 1958; he served in the
7U.S. Army and married Sherri Fairconnetue on March 28, 1981;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rev. Hamilton retired from Securitas; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rev. Hamilton was a licensed minister with the
11Church of God, where he served as preacher, elder, choir
12member, leader of the media ministry, and partner in the
13outreach ministry at Capital City Church of God; he was a
14member of the Springfield Illinois Ministerial Alliance, a
15member of the Ernie Bankhead Neighborhood Association
16(Chaplin), and a board member of the Child Evangelism
17Fellowship Lincoln Land Chapter; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rev. Hamilton was preceded in death by his
19parents and his brother, Larry Wayne; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rev. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Sherri;

1his son, Wayne Jr. (Melissa); his daughter, Sheena; his
2grandson, Tyree; his sister, Aldorra; his brothers, Albert
3Jr., David, and Gerald; and several nieces, nephews, cousins,
4and other family and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Reverend Wayne E. Hamilton Sr. and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Rev. Hamilton as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
